Cold Casting Sculpture

Cold casting sculpture is made from a two-part liquid polymer resin and powdered bronze or aluminum, which are mixed together and poured into a matte rubber mold. The complete ‘sandwich’ of layers results in the actual metal particles being embedded into the surface of the casting and this is what gives it its incredible real metal finish and detailing. Alumilite Cold Casting is a fast and easy way to create realistic metal sculptures, figurines, and parts. With cold casting you apply a two-part epoxy resin (UVPoxy) that has metallic powder mixed into it. Both parts are combined together to create the metal appearance of your sculpture. After being applied, the metallic UVPoxy can be polished, sanded and finished just like cast metal with common metals tools and supplies.
